FAIRHOPE, Alabama-Several University of South Alabama librarians got together last month on the USA Baldwin County campus to collaborate on a grant-writing project to fund a study using mobile tablets in the classroom for students to perform library activities.
The group worked together on a Sparks grant proposal, according to a news release from USABC.
The Jan. 31 grant-writing collaboration was conducted using an online environment with Google Docs, face-to-face meetings, and Skype videoconferencing, the release stated.
Librarians working on the grant represented the University Library, BioMedical Library, Government Documents Library, and the USA Baldwin County Library, and included Muriel Nero, Elizabeth Rugan, Paula Webb, Mary Duffy, Kathy Wheeler and Angela Rand, according to USABC.
The release did not indicate whether the proposal had been submitted or when the group would learn if the grant had been awarded.
