"Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons." ~ Ruth Ann Schabacker
I was super excited to have the opportunity to write a story about the wonderful giving hearts of the members at New Beginning Christian Fellowship in Foley. Each year, this being the third, the church members plant a community garden. The garden's bounty is a gift to the community and anyone can come and pick vegetables free of charge.
I went by to take a look at the garden the other day. As I looked out over the garden, my heart grew warm as I remembered all the smiling faces of the church members as they began to plant the first seeds of the season. What a blessing it was to be there that day.
Although the rows are pretty muddy, and grass is starting to make its way down, there is still plenty of vegetables ready for picking. I encourage you to head out to New Beginning Christian Fellowship on County Road 55 and pick some fresh vegetables for yourself.
Times are tough, yet there is so much that we can do to help each other...if we are willing. Advances and technology are great, but I believe that old fashioned neighbors helping neighbors is so much greater! So go ahead...untie the ribbons.
