FOLEY, Ala. - Uptown Foley will host a community yard sale on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon in the Uptown Alley behind Hotel Magnolia.

This will be the first yard sale hosted by the Uptown Foley organization.

"This is the first Alley Treasures Yard Sale," Mell Davis, Uptown Foley committee member, said. "It kind of came about by having it in a centralized place instead of your front yard hoping people can find it.

"It also brings more attention to our uptown area and maybe people walk into a business and buy something. It brings attention to the Uptown area and also knocks out a lot of yard sales in one.

Residents can buy a space to sell any items for $10, and other residents are encouraged to come and take a gander at any potential unwanted objects.

Items that will be allowed to be sold include: furniture; dishes; glassware; books; toys; art; antiques; tools; jewelry; linens; sports items; hunting equipment; kitchen accessories; yard tools and grilling tools.

Clothes, perishable items, animals, guns or knives are not allowed to be sold at the event.

For more information or to apply for a selling spot, visit Uptownfoley.com or call (251) 978-4721.
