Uptown Foley’s first Fall Market last Thursday was a success according to Katie Spratlin with Uptown Foley.
Spratlin said there were 18 vendors present selling their wares at the first event, and she hopes to see even more there in the upcoming weeks. She has been in touch with additional vendors who wish to join in for upcoming events. She also said eight farmers brought their produce to sell.
Cain’s Wine Cellar, the Foley Fire Department and Elberta Schools all sold refreshments. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo brought one of the zoo animals and Soul Monkey performed on the Magnolia Hotel’s back patio.
Spratlin estimates that 250 people attended the first night of the Foley Fall Market.
“We are confident that number will increase,” said Spratlin.
Members of Uptown Foley thought their first endeavor was very successful.
“We received many e-mails that night and the next day from area residents excited about the Fall Market and telling us they would be attending our future Fall Market nights. The residents are thrilled to have an uptown Foley event where they can meet business owners from our community,” said Spratlin.
The Foley Fall Market will continue through the first week of November. This week’s musical entertainment will be Jerry Byrd.
