Ursula Hempelmann died Friday, June 17, 2011.
She left her home country of Germany to marry and raise a family. Educated in Germany and graduate of a business school in Frankfurt, she arrived in the United States where she went to beauty college.
After graduation she worked as a model and hair stylist. In 1978, she opened her own salon, Main Street Hair Company, in Plymouth, Mich. In 1999, she retired and moved to Baldwin County. She was an active member of the South Baldwin Newcomers Club. She was a talented cook, a great dancer, and a wise counselor.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, Omi, and dear friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Franz and Imgard Ruppel.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of almost 50 years, Heinz Hempelmann; son, Eric (Dawn) Hempelmann; daughter, Nicole (Matthew) Pulick; grandchildren, Kirstin and Julia Hempelmann, Michaela and Chloe Pulick; brother, Dieter Feierabend; and sister, Irmgard Dombrowski.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are by Pine Rest Funeral Home Inc., Foley.
