Joseph Van Hook Jr., 91 a native of Broadhead, Ky., former resident of Daphne and a resident of New Lebanon, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at his home.
He was a member of the Spanish Fort Church of Christ, the New Lebanon, Ohio, American Legion, and the VFW in Mobile. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Christine, his parents, Joe Frank and Cynthia Van Hook, and is the last surviving child of 10 children.
Survivors include a son Joseph (Connie) Van Hook Jr. of New Lebanon, Ohio; two daughters, Linda (Drew) Merrill of Gratis, Ohio, and Debra (Peter) Inglis of Hillsborough, N.C.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services and visitation were held Thursday, Nov. 19 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Interment followed at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
