Velma Beatrice Mosley Davis, 66, born Oct. 6, 1944, a native of Stapleton and a resident of Elberta, died Monday July 25, 2011.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. During an 18-year courageous battle with cancer she fought to live for and love her family and friends who supported and fought along with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Emma Mosley; brother Jesse “J.C.” Mosley; sister-in-law, Sarah Mosley; brother-in-law, Donald Wilson.
Survivors include three children, Barbara (Ron) Stone and Sherry (Brian) Haber, both of Elberta and Carl E. (Melissa) Davis of Robertsdale; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Stone, Andy Stone, Scott Haber, Ashleigh Haber, Stephanie Haber, Braydon Davis and Coleman Davis; eight siblings, Marion Mosley, Freddie (Elaine) Mosley, Tony (Marilyn) Mosley, George (Laura) Mosley, Janice (Hurbert) Humphrey, Nita (Sam) Robberson, Brenda Wilson, Elvira Bishop (Sammy) Ridgeway; sister-in-law Isabella Mosley; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at Mack Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28 at Overcoming Faith Ministries in Robertsdale. Burial will follow at Galilee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Stapleton.
