Vera Saffen Saye, 87, a longtime resident of Baldwin County died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013.
In her lifetime she was an avid golfer, bridge player, enjoyed working in her yard and especially loved cooking for her family and friends.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Saye; daughter, Paulette Louise Saye; and her brother, Dr. Eugene Saffen.
She is survived by her three children, Philip (Lynn) Saye, Pamela (Freddie) Blackwell and Patricia (Nolan) Johnson; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Connie (Howard) Smith of Chunchula and Mary Whitley of Jackson, Miss.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley.
The family will receive friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Christ the King School or church, or to a favorite charity.
