Vera Simmons Nanney, 100 a native of Potts Camp, Miss., and a resident of Fairhope, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at a local health care facility.
She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church Fairhope.
Survivors include three sons, W.C. (Lydia) Nanney of Fairhope, Jack Nanney of Tupelo, Miss., and Wayne (Jane) Nanney of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Doug Simmons of West Helena, Ark.; sister, Juanita Clements of Lexa, Ark.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Oakland Memorial Gardens, Birmingham.
