Verlon Quinton “Scutter” Johnson, 62, a native and resident of the White House Fork Community of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Biloxi, Miss.
He was an installer for Instar Cable Company; a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army; and he was also a member of the Bay Minette Masonic Lodge #498.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Velma Johnson; and a sister, Charlene Carlton.
Survivors include two children, Brock Johnson of Bay Minette and Datia Johnson (Joey) Collum of Pearl River, La.; three brothers, D.C. Johnson of Bay Minette, Roger Johnson of White House Fork and Rocky Johnson of Bay Minette; and three grandchildren, Breeze “Nebo” Sheehan, Carly Brooke Collum and Aaron Brock Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 8 at the Stapleton Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at the church with the Rev. J.P. Lambert and the Rev. Angelo Thomley officiating. Burial with miliary and Masonic honors will follow at the White Cemetery.
