DAPHNE, Ala.— A Veterans Day celebration program— honoring veterans of past and present wars—is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday outside City Hall.
Special guests include state Rep. Randy Davis and Congressman Jo Bonner. The Daphne High School Junior ROTC will present the colors and lead the pledge of allegiance. The Dogwood Court and Jubilee Girls will make a special appearance at the ceremony.
In case of rain, the gathering will move inside the council chambers.
“It’s an honor to be able to celebrate all the veterans from all the wars,” Mayor Fred Small said.
“We wouldn’t be able to live in the country we live in and we wouldn’t have the freedom we enjoy if they hadn’t fought for us,” Small said.
For more information, contact City Hall at 621-9000.

The Eastern Shore Exchange Club, which began a few months ago in Baldwin County, has two upcoming projects that will honor and remember those who have given their lives for our country.
The first project has the club leading the first annual Veterans Day Parade, down Main Street in Daphne, on Nov. 11. The club will hand out flags to children watching the parade.
The club’s second project will be to honor our veterans, at the USS Alabama Battleship Park beginning Nov. 8 through Nov. 11, with a “Field of Valor.” Large American flags will be installed on the front grounds of the park, facing the causeway, which will be lit at night for this event. Flags can be purchased in remembrance or in honor of veterans.
