Victor Ervin Traylor, 92, of Gulf Shores, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in Foley.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the 14th Airforce “the Flying Tigers” in China.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Gulf Shores, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent.
He was also a historian and author of two books as well as contributor to various periodicals and publications.
He was best known for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Thomason Traylor of Gulf Shores; son, David (Gayla) Traylor of Kaneohe, Hawaii; two grandsons, Andrew and Daniel Traylor of Kaneohe; five step-children, Albert Clayton, Scott Clayton, Dorothy Clayton, Matthew (Diana) Clayton,
and Eugene Clayton; and one step-grandson, Rowan Clayton.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25 at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores. Burial will be at 10:15 a.m. Monday, June 27 at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS, Pensacola, Fla.
