Vincent Michael Gregorius, 94, a native of Wisconsin and a resident of Fairhope, died Monday, January 23, 2012.
During WWII, Gregorius was in the Merchant Marines and following the war he went into the Naval Reserves
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus #8959 and was an avid gardener and master builder.
Gregorius was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Viola M. Gregorius.
He is survived by four sons, Donald V. (Juanita) Gregorius of Spanish Fort, Richard E. (Lorena) Gregorius, David A. (Elizabeth) Gregorius both of Fairhope, Vincent M. Gregorius, Jr. of Foley; a daughter, Shirley E. (Pat) Bankester of Bay Minette; two brothers, Melvin Gregorius of Spanish Fort, Glyn Gregorius of Fairhope; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Interment was at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Building Fund.
