Virginia Ann Sokolowski, age 80, a native of Battle Creek, Michigan and a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.
Virginia served her country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, was a GS12-retired civil service, she loved to travel and enjoyed time in her home and in Italy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Lawrence Sokolowski of Daphne, Alabama; daughter, Heather M. (Robert S.) Urias; and son, Dean R. (Sabrina M.) Sokolowski, all of Mobile, Alabama; three grandchildren, Tyler Garside, Arianna Sokolowski, Joshua Sokolowski; niece, Ginger (Frank) Mayberry of Battle Creek, Michigan, a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
Her family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at 1:15 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
