Virginia Moon Wood, 93, a former resident of Tuscaloosa and a resident of Foley, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013.
Mrs. Wood was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa for more than 60 years, and was a current member of the Foley First Baptist Church.
She retired from the University of Alabama Supply Store.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Wood Jr.; parents, Walter M. and Eugenia Moon; and her sister, Edna Ruth Givens.
She is survived by two sons, James W. (Jerrie) Wood of Foley and Robert L. (Brenda) Wood of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Megan) Wood, Damon (Whitney) Wood, Amy (Jason) Gebhart and Adam Wood; and four grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren, Avery and Connor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Shane Latta officiating. Music will be by the Rev. David Clevenger. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, from 2 until 3 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Tuscaloosa Memorial Gardens.
