Virginia Payne Cain, 88, born Sept. 5, 1926, a native and resident of Bay Minette, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Herman Cain; her parents, Benjamin F. and Cora Graham Payne; and her brother, Benjamin T. “Buddy” Payne.
She is survived by three sons, Herman Ray Cain, Bobby N. (Georgia) Cain and Jerry L. (Kay) Cain, all of Bay Minette; a sister, Estelle Payne Still of Dothan; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cain was a lifelong member of Assembly of God Grace Fellowship Church in Bay Minette.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially gardening. Up until recently, she still enjoyed manicuring her lawn.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at noon, at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette, with the Rev. William Lutz officiating.
Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Cain, Timmy Witherington, Chuck Cain, Randall Ruple, Terry Cain and Shelton Tyson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Cain’s name to Grace Fellowship Church of Bay Minette, P.O. Box 1396, Bay Minette, AL 36507, or to your favorite charity.
