Vivian Hilson Lewis, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Fairhope, died Friday, March 15, 2013.

She was born June 6, 1935 to the union of Chester and Hilda Hilson.

She was a faithful and dedicated member of Twin Beech A.M.E. Zion Church, Fairhope. She is a graduate of Baldwin County Training School, Daphne and a graduate of the class of 1954 at Tuskegee School of Nursing, Tuskegee. She interned at The City of New York Hospital in 1955. She returned home and worked until 1971 at Mobile General Hospital. After her tenure there she worked at Thomas Hospital where she served as the Nursing Service supervisor from July 1971 until her retirement in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her loving husband, Clinton Alfred Lewis Sr.; three children, Chester (Erline) Lewis Sr. of Fairhope, Cheryl (Cedric) Jenkins of Pooler, Ga., and Dominic Lewis of Daytona Beach, Fla.; stepson, Clinton Lewis Jr. of Fairhope; four grandchildren, Chester (Christina), Brandon and Cameron Lewis, and Hannah Jenkins; three great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Hilson Williams; two nieces, Shelia Pompey-Ratliff (Keith) and Essie Hilson; one nephew, William Hilson; other relatives, friends and coworkers.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Twin Beech A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment will follow in Twin Beech Cemetery.
