BALDWIN COUNTY, Alabama - With the recent AHSAA realignment Baldwin County’s volleyball teams will face some new opponents in area play this season.

Baldwin County High’s Lady Tigers join Daphne, Fairhope, Foley and Robertsdale in 6A Area 3 this season. BCHS competed in Area 4 with McGill-Toolen, Satsuma and Williamson last season.

Gulf Shores and Spanish Fort replace LeFlore and Vigor with B.C. Rain and Williamson in 5A Area 2 this season. Williamson fell out of Class 6A, while B.C. Rain jumped up from 4A after the realignment.

Perennial volleyball powerhouse Bayside Academy’s Class 3A Area 1 adds Cottage Hill Christian and W.S. Neal to compete with T. R. Miller this season, dropping Clarke County and Washington County.

The realignment also changed some areas for Baldwin’s basketball teams.

The realignment created an all-Baldwin area in 6A Area 3 with Foley, Fairhope, Daphne, Robertsdale and Baldwin County. BCHS had competed in Area 4 against Williamson, McGill-Toolen and Satsuma last season.

In 5A Area 2, Gulf Shores and Spanish Fort dropped LeFlore and Vigor and added Williamson and B.C. Rain.

In 3A Area 1 play, Bayside Academy will face T.R. Miller, CottageHill and W.S. Neal.
