Voncile Woerner, 80, a resident of Elberta, born June 18, 1930 in Elberta, died Sunday, June 12, 2011.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend of many.
She generously shared her love with not only her family, but to all who had the pleasure of being her friend. She leaves behind a legacy of rich memories and humorous thoughts for those who knew and loved her. She will be missed by her children and friends as well as the many friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Herbert Woerner; two brothers, George and Daniel Hodges; and sister, Doris Gardener.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald Woerner of Elberta, Bruce (Judy) Woerner of Pensacola, Flla., and Doug (Becky) Woerner of Baton Rouge, La.; brother, Claude; 12 grandchildren, Kristie, Chris, Jason, Kandy, Kevin, Rachael, Kelly, Kim, Mandy, Amber, Matt and A.J.; 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other friends and family.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdya, June 16 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17 at Genesis Church, Lillian. Interment will follow at Elberta Community Cemetery, Elberta.
