DAPHNE, Ala.—Lauren Stewart—a Daphne East Elementary fifth-grader—was named the Alabama winner of this year’s Toyota-sponsored National Arbor Day Foundation Poster Contest, and has made it to the national finals, to be judged the first week in April.

The public may vote in this contest by going online to arborday.org/kids/postercontest. There will be five days for casting your vote: March 30 to April 3.

All posters will have the same theme—“Trees are Terrific in Cities and Towns”—and will be displayed without the student’s name.

“Recognizing the poster is very important as your vote could be the deciding vote to make Lauren the national winner,” Tomasina Werner, a Daphne Beautification Committee member, said.

A framed copy of Lauren’s poster is displayed at City Hall; poster handouts are also available there.
