BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Political observers are expecting a small turnout today among the county’s 103,000 registered voters who will determine the fate of a proposed local Constitutional amendment which would add 4 mills to property taxes for road improvements.
Voters also will vote for a small slate of local and state offices, including a school board seat and the Baldwin County Revenue Commissioner post.
Phil Nix decided not to qualify for re-election as revenue commissioner. Daphne City Councilman Ron Scott and appraiser Teddy Faust are vying for the open post.
Polls will be open until 7 p.m. today. Before 7:30 p.m., the first precinct data packs should arrive for counting at the Baldwin County Administration Building in Bay Minette.
The public will be able to watch as the data packs are unsealed and inserted into the counting machines. The unofficial results will be posted Tuesday evening at by clicking here.
According to a Probate Office spokesperson, individual precinct results will be fed continuously to the Web site during the evening and cumulative results will be periodically posted during the count.
