W. J. Carroll Intermediate School would like to congratulate Sage Adaire, a 6th grader in Mrs. Debbie Greer’s room. He recently participated in his first chess tournament at the Bayside Open where he tied for 2nd place in the scholastic unrated division. Presenting his certificate from the tournament is Mrs. Dana Bottoms, school principal. Congratulations also go to Shawn Purdy, a 5th grader in Mrs. Elaine Herring’s room, who participated in the tournament as well.
