Rodney D’Olive Waldrop, 70, a native of Alabama and resident of Daphne, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at his residence.
He retired from the U.S. Navy and EI Dupont, graduated from the University of South Carolina and was an avid Gamecock fan and golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Elodia Waldrop, two sisters, Ninette Leiser and Maxine Foster, and a brother, Alexander P. Waldrop.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marjorie Waldrop of Daphne; two daughters, Julie (Leo) Korpanty of Orlando, Fla., and Melinda Darlene Ellman of Tega Cay, S.C.; three grandsons, Alexander James Korpanty, Drayton Paterson Ellman and Peyton Waldrop Ellman; and his mother-in-law: Elizabeth Sullivan of Daphne.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Old Methodist Church Museum.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Daphne Methodist Cemetery.
