Walter Cole Holman Sr., 79, a native of Foley and a resident of Summerdale, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his true devotion and love for his family and compassion for all others. He always put others before himself and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Norma J. Holman of Summerdale; three sons, Walter (Becky) Holman of Austin, Texas, Fred (Donna) Holman of Foley and Terry (Jerri) Holman of Summerdale; daughter, Glenda Torres of Dallas; nine sisters, two brothers, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends; and his loving pet of 13 years, Jesse.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 6 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
