E. Georgina “Georgie” Walton, born Dec. 3, 1917 in Chicago, a resident of Daphne, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at a local hospital.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a graduate of Illinois Wheaton College and lived in Huntsville for 30 years, where she was an avid bridge player, traveler, reader, writer and a dedicated member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph V. Walton Sr., and a son, Ralph V. Walton Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Hanak of Daphne; one granddaughter, Emily Brewer of Montgomery; niece, Georgie Black of West Palm Beach, Fla., nephews, Peter Stronge of Kingman, Ariz., David Stronge of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Bill Stronge of London.
Graveside services and interment were held on Saturday, April 4 at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope with the Rev. Matt McCollum officiating.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children, P.O. Drawer 577, Talladega, AL 35161.
