Kick off your Labor Day weekend with a visit to the Waterfront Park on Canal Road. The Waterfront Festival of Art takes place there Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sept. 2, from 10-4.

The Orange Beach Art Center has teamed up with the OBFD Ladies Auxiliary to make this a true community event.

Regional artists will provide an assortment of their work in paintings, photography, jewelry, textiles, clay, sculpture and wood.

Polka Dot the Clown will be on location from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day performing an array of clown antics and balloon sculpting.

Gregory Brown will perform today. Drop by and listen to this notable guitarist.

The Art Center Gallery and Gift Shop will be open, too. The ladies of the auxiliary will be raising funds during the two-day festival tantalizing your taste buds with food and baked goodies.

There will be free parking and admission.
