Wayne Miguel Eslava

Wayne Miguel Eslava, 75, a native of Mobile and a resident of Josephine, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2011 in Foley.

He was a 1953 graduate of McGill Institute.

He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former deacon and member of Josphine Baptist Church and former volunteer at the Josephine Fire Department. He was also a former deacon and member of First Assembly of God in Mobile. He retired from CSX Railroad as a locomotive engineer with over 25 years of service and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Elwood Eslava Jr. and Kenneth Tracy Eslava.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Annette Eslava of Josephine; two sons, Wayne M. Eslava Jr. and Garrick E. Eslava, both of Mobile; two daughters, Amber Mathers, and Christa Eiland, both of Mobile; three step-daughters, Tonya Beech of Lucedale, Miss., Kelly Beech of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ashley Reid of Gig Harbor, Wash.; brother, Dale Eslava of Gulfport, Miss.; three sisters, Gloria Tanner and Joyce Eslava both of Mobile, and Carlita Jemison of Agricola, Miss.; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
