Wayne Weaver Wilson, 82, a resident of Montrose, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2014.

Wayne was a retired fire marshal at Scott Paper Co. in Mobile.

He was a longtime resident of Montrose, who loved living on the Eastern Shore for its natural beauty and jubilees. He was known for his generosity, and he loved helping others.

During his lifetime, he drove everything from the Model A to a 2014 Corvette. He had a true passion for the automobile and traveling the highways of the greater Southeast.

During his retirement, deer hunting, reading and spending time with friends and family gave him the most joy.

He was preceded in death by his son, Weaver Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Wilson of Montrose; daughters, Rene’ Wilson (Deb) of Brevard, N.C. and Audre Coleman (Byron) of Columbia, Tenn.; son, Alan Wilson (Donna) of Stapleton; daughter-in-law, Donna Wilson of Mobile; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at 3 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alabama Sheriffs Boys Ranch, 21870 Countyt Road 32, Summerdale, AL 36580.
