FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Smart Coast invites residents to join the growing celebration of walkable communities with Fairhope’s First Friday Fun Walk to School.

Grab something green and join in the First Friday Fun Walk to School set for March 6. The ongoing First Friday Fun Walks to Schools are sponsored by Smart Coast in partnership with the Baldwin County School System and the Fairhope City Planning Department.

Fairhope K-1 students will meet at 7:15 a.m in the parking lot of the Fairhope Civic Center. A surprise “walker” will be joining the students. Latte Da will be presenting walking parents with special “treat” coupons.

Fairhope Elementary and Intermediate students and parents should meet at the Big Lots parking lot at 7:15 a.m.

Fairhope’s favorite Mayoral candidate “Willie Bean” will have on his green attire as he accompanies the students. Coffee Loft will be presenting special “treat” coupons to walking parents.

Both walks will begin by 7:20 a.m. Organizers pledge to walk “rain or shine” — so be prepared for the weather.

If parents are unable to accompany their children, arrangements should be made with another supervising adult so all interested children can participate.
