Leonard Ray Webb, born Jan. 29, 1940 in Saratoga, Texas, died in March of 2009.

After leaving high school in Texas, he joined the US Marine Corps and served proudly for 24 years, including three combat tours in Vietnam as a flight engineer.

He retired as captain and continued to work with C130 aircraft as a technical representative with Lockheed, living and working all over the world from Dubai, West Africa, Algerian, Jordan, then covering the entire Middle East and South Africa from his company base in Marietta, Ga.

After 18 years, he retired and worked for Kellstrom Industries in South Florida as Technical Director for their C130 program. Retirement came into sight in 2005, but he continued to work from home as a technical consultant for Kellstrom.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of Fairhope; son, Stephen (Robin) Webb of Michigan; grandson, Will Webb of Michigan; step-daughter, Emma Webb of England, brothers, Jerry (Jane) Webb of South Carolina, Bill Webb and his children, Mindy, Kristi, and Robbie, all of Virginia; many other family members, USMC buddies and numerous friends around the air transport world.

A military service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 17 at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Fla.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Marine Corps Air Transport Association, P.O. Box 1134, Millington, TN 38083
