James Franklin “Frankie” Weekley, 59, of Ariton, died June 1, 2010 after a long illness.
He was born March 2, 1951 to Robert and Flara Weekley of Styx River. He was a loving and caring person. He loved music and would strum on his guitar and sing. Some of the songs he wrote in his head. He touched the lives of all those around him in different ways and despite of his handicap, he was a very smart person. He was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert N. Weekley; mother, Flara Weekley; sister, Frances Jane Weekley; and brother, Robert M. “Mickey” Weekley.
Survivors include five sisters and a brother, Jean (Carl) Crutchfield of Dothan, Roberta Dunnam of Ashford, Delos (Jim) Welch of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Norma (Robert) Buckhalter of Hattisburg, Miss., Patsy (Thad) Carver of Cirta, Fla., and Charles “Buddy” (Debbie) Weekley of Youngstown, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his extended family, Alivia and Darryl Blackmon of Ariton, who he has lived with in their home for the past 17 years.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4 from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Hinote Cemetery in Styx River.
