Kathryn L. Weekley, 87, died Sunday, April 26, 2009.
She was born in Ottawa, Ohio, and was a longtime resident of the Styx River Community. She was a charter member of the Styx River Baptist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Thurza Chapter No. 273, Robertsdale. She wrote the Styx River Community News for The Independent for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy Weekley, son, Timothy Weekley, grandsons, Patrick Weekley and Eddie Dunnam.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanelene (Steve) Lansing of Mobile and Barbara Thornhill of the Styx River Community and Sundra (Charles) Dunnam of Old Town, Fla.; two sons, Mike (Mary) Weekley and Charley (Mary J.) Weekley, both of Styx River; 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Graveside funeral services and burial was held Wednesday, April 29 at Hinote Cemetery in Styx River with the Rev. Randy Sirmon officiating.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
