WEEKS BAY, Ala. — The Weeks Bay Foundation will hold their 11th Annual Weeks Bay Kids Fishing Day on Saturday, May 2, at the Safe Harbor pond, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The pond will be stocked with over 1,000 pounds of freshwater catfish.
According to Weeks Bay Foundation Executive Director Walter Ernest, "Kids Fishing Day is a great way to teach children to enjoy our natural resources in Baldwin County."
There is no charge to register; however a parent or guardian will be required to accompany each child.
Registration forms can be obtained from the Weeks Bay Reserve Interpretive Center, the Weeks Bay Foundation's Web site, www.weeksbay.org, and at Faulkner State Community College's Fairhope Campus administration office.
The event is sponsored by the Weeks Bay Foundation, The Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries, ADCNR State Lands Division Coastal Section and the Baldwin County Commission.
