ROBERTSDALE — Wells Fargo awarded a grant to the libraries in Baldwin County for the 2011 Summer Reading Program. The $5,500 grant provided financial assistance for this year’s program, which was entitled “One World, Many Stories.”
The Summer Reading Program is an annual event that brings entertainers, speakers and activities to local libraries. The program is designed for the children of Baldwin County and features a reading contest. All events are free and open to the public.
Wells Fargo’s Corporate Giving program supports organizations that work to strengthen communities. The company strives to be actively involved in its local communities and supports projects that keep those communities strong, diverse and vibrant.
The “One World, Many Stories” program was held at the Bay Minette Public Library, Daphne Public Library, Fairhope Public Library, Foley Public Library, Loxley Public Library, Marjorie Younce Snook Public Library in Summerdale, Orange Beach Public Library, Oscar Johnson Public Library, Robertsdale Public Library, Thomas B. Norton Public Library in Gulf Shores and Magnolia Springs Public Library.
The Baldwin County Library Cooperative consists of the county’s 12 local libraries, the Bookmobile and several book deposit stations. BCLC is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday ,Thursday and Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. BCLC is located in the Central Annex at 22251 Palmer Street in Robertsdale.
