Adele “Dell” Wetzel, born June 27, 1926 in Norco, La., died Sunday June 27, 2010 at her home in Gulf Shores.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and true friend to everyone she encountered.
She was born and grew up in Norco, Louisiana. She met her husband Wilbert J. Wetzel, Jr. in high school and they married in January, 1955. They traveled the world while her husband served in the Air Force, stationed in France and Okinawa, as well as numerous locations throughout the United States. She was very active in the garden club and other neighborhood associations and had worked for the golf pro-shop at the Country Club of Mobile.
She was a loving, true, dependable friend and confidant to so many. She was always full of love, and good thoughts and words for all. She lived life to the fullest, even in the hard times.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbert J. Wetzel Jr. of Gulf Shores; three children, Gary (Janet) Wetzel of Robertsdale, Susan Wetzel of New Orleans and James (Melissa) Wetzel of Spanish Fort; three grandchildren, Rory Blank of Hawaii, Rachel Wetzel of Cincinnati and Alexis Wetzel of Spanish Fort; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at noon Thursday, July 1 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
