At Bayside this past week, sports, exciting field trips, musical showcases, and displays of knowledge have been taking place with great success rates.
Even though the baseball team was unsuccessful in their last game, their overall season’s success made all of us at Bayside proud. There was a very large turn-out at the game and the coaches wanted to express their thanks to the faculty, students and families that showed their support.
In tennis, Helen Cunningham won her fourth consecutive individual No. 1 singles title and with her doubles partner, Alex Phipps, won the No. 1 doubles title for the third time. The girls tennis team placed second in the 1A–3A State Tennis Tournament played at Mobile Tennis Center while the boys attained third place.
Out of school, Bayside high-schoolers have been contributing to the community as well. The Boys and Girls Service Clubs (collectively) made over $1,100 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Service Clubs of Bayside want to extend their thanks to all who contributed!
The Environmental Club at Bayside met with a Fairhope committee involved with the restoration of the longleaf pine ecosystem in Knoll Park. The club watered and fertilized plants that were added by the park in the past fall.
The middle- and highschool track and field team are well on their way to great success. The girls won the Sectional Championship and the boys team finished second. Congratulations to them!
The Lower School put on a Famous Alabamian Day April 25. The event was a big success.
Afterward, they went and played kickball on the bluff. The kindergartners through fourth-grade students started seining May 7 to expand their knowledge of the marine life in Mobile Bay.
