Abraham Lincoln and even learned a song about him. Everyone loves our flag and learned that it is a symbol of our country, the U.S.A. The class is patriotic—and loves their country!
Mrs. Clayton’s first-grade students will be presenting their reports on presidents in recognition of President’s Day. Students are responsible for a poster with five interesting facts about their chosen president, as well as a picture of this famous man. The class will also celebrate Valentine’s Day this week with a special snack. The students are also excited about visiting Sea, Sand and Stars on Monday, Feb. 16.
Mrs. Stembridge’s class is learning about how important it is to be responsible. The students are learning that it takes a really responsible person to be a community helper. The class is focusing on firefighters this week in reading. Have you ever thought about what firemen do when there isn’t a fire? The class is enjoying finding out the answer to that question!
Mrs. Utsey’s class is enjoying studying about our famous American symbols. The class has been working hard on time-telling skills. Congratulations to Xan Flanary for being chosen as our Shining Star of the Week. Everyone looked forward to the Valentine sharing time on Friday and letting their friends know just how special they are to us.
Third-graders in Mrs. Blackmon’s class are learning about light in science. The students have enjoyed doing investigations outside using prisms. They created rainbows on the ground and then noticed the difference in the rainbow when they created it on colored paper.
Mrs. Bowen’s class is creating a narrative writing titled, “If I was shot by cupid’s arrow.” This will be displayed in the main hall during Writing on the Wall week.
Mrs. Dickson’s third-grade class is learning about energy. The class has just completed an awesome writing activity about Groundhog Day. Come check it out on the wall beside their room!
Mrs. Megginson’s third-graders have just completed all of their multiplication facts! They are also enjoying studying electricity in science.
Mrs. Nolfe’s third-grade Project Jubilee students are continuing their study of physics. Last week the class investigated the life of Isaac Newton and learned about his contributions to the field of math and science. The students explored the different laws of motions.
Next week the class will be participating in Operation Egg Drop!
