DAPHNE, Ala. — Our Safety Patrol teams for the 2008-2009 school year have begun their duties. We have 60 second- and third-graders helping our students arrive and depart safely each day.
Team 2 is completing their first round of duty this week. Team 2 members are Garrett Springs, Macy and Mary Crigler, Dylan Villa, Chantz Stevens, Coraliz Martinez, Clay Davis, Jenna McKnight, Taylor Cooper, Reagan Garlock and Christian Pierce.
Mr. Ayres’ class has been investigating the human body in science. They have learned about the food pyramid and the types of good food they need to eat. They have also learned about what’s inside of their bodies. This week they will learn more about muscles and bones and add to our “Medical Journals.”
Ms. Phillips’ first-graders are learning all about animal groups and life cycles. They are also enjoying listening to a novel, “A Mouse and a Motorcycle.”
First graders in Mrs. Pierce’s class have enjoyed learning about the human body and are now studying “Animals Two by Two.” The class is looking forward to mastering counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
Mrs. Nolfe’s third-grade Project Jubilee classes continue to study ancient Greece. The students can locate Athens and describe its diverse geography, describe the Greek flag and what the colors mean, as well as describe what life was like in ancient Greek times.
