A great big “thank you” goes out to second-grade students and teachers for their performance at Monday night’s PTA program! The program emphasized being fit and eating healthy. Thank you for the time and dedication it took to perform the program. It was enjoyed by all!
First-graders in Mrs. Pierce’s class really enjoyed learning about the Earth and how they can take care of it. As a culminating activity the class visited 5 Rivers, where they learned about how important the Delta is to our ecosystem. The class is starting a new unit on plants. In this unit they will grow, measure and learn about the different ways to care for plants.
Mrs. Riel’s first graders are learning about words that contain r-controlled vowels in spelling. They are learning about pronouns in grammar, and starting measurement in math. But the most exciting thing is starting our unit on plants! The class will be planting grass, watching it grow and making observations. They will also be doing experiments to “see” the jobs of plant parts.
First-graders in Mrs. Vereen’s class enjoyed their field trip to 5 Rivers last week. Students learned about plants and animals that live here in our area. They also learned about things they can do to help those plants and animals in the environment.
Second-graders in Mrs. Davis’ class are finishing up their unit about plant life. The class will start to study facts about Alabama. They have been diligently practicing for Monday night’s PTA program and their hard work paid off! Everyone enjoyed their spring break and we are now counting down their days till summer.
