Our lost and found is overflowing in the office. If your child has lost a jacket or sweater please come by and see if it is there. Also, please make sure you put your child’s name in all items brought to school.
PTA wants to let everyone know that Kids Corner Santa Shop was a huge success. Thank you for your support.
Mrs. Cole’s kindergarten class has been busy getting ready for Christmas. The students colored oversized candy to help decorate the gingerbread house outside our classroom door.
The kindergarten classes had a wonderful time going to see “The Nutcracker” ballet at the Mobile Civic Center last Friday. The children have also been busy making Christmas ornaments for our classroom Christmas tree. They made candy canes and two different reindeer ornaments. They can’t wait to take their ornaments home to hang on their own Christmas trees.
Mrs. Hawes’ and Mrs. McGinty’s kindergarten classes are looking forward to their “Polar Express” Christmas party. The classes will be allowed to wear pajamas to school that day. They will drink hot chocolate, play Christmas games, read Christmas stories, make a Christmas ornament, and, of course, watch “The Polar Express.”
Students in Ms. Jackson’s kindergarten class are learning about different legends of Christmas, from the candy cane and Christmas tree to Santa Claus and Rudolph.
Mrs. Davis’ second-grade class is learning about traditions around the world.
Mrs. Sanders’ second-graders will be having their second annual International Feast. Each student will bring a dish and discuss the traditions of their ancestors on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m.
Second-graders in Mrs. Utsey’s class are having fun visiting around the world learning about different Christmas traditions.

In Mrs. Bowen’s third grade, students are doing a “Polar Express” theme this week. All of our Language Arts will relate to this story. Their spelling words come from the story, and, of course, we will read and comprehend the story and work on story elements. Then the students will write about what they think the first gift of Christmas should be.
In Social Studies the class will study how different countries celebrate Christmas; some of these countries include Mexico, Germany and England. They are also working very hard in Math in preparation for the Cumulative Assessment.
Mrs. Nolfe’s third-grade Project Jubilee class is celebrating this week. The students will visit The Down Under Diner for an Aussie treat on Wednesday. They will also be making several ornaments to take home for their tree. Finally, the students will embark on a trip to Pensacola to see a theatrical performance of “A Christmas Story” at the Pensacola Little Theatre.
