Mrs. McGinty’s kindergarten class had a great time making all of the decorations for their class Christmas tree!
They made angels, candy canes, wreaths and even blue birds from Sweden.
The class is going to be sad today, which is Josh Lavin’s last day with us, as he and his family are moving to South Carolina.
Chapel will also be leaving after Christmas but the students will have one more week with him after the holidays, before he moves to Alex City.
The class loves and will miss their friends!
First grade is doing Christmas Around the World.
The students are “traveling” throughout the country learning about different celebrations. Mrs. Riel is teaching about Kwanzaa and African American history/customs. The students will be celebrating creativity through a craft and celebrating family by sharing a snack together.
Today they are having PJ day and their Christmas party. The class will be making gingerbread houses.
Mrs. Davis’ second-grade students had a great time wearing their pajamas and watching “The Polar Express” last week.
The class collected toys for Toys for Tots this year. Mrs. Davis wants to thank all the students who brought in toys. The project was a big success.
Mr. Bellmyer’s third-graders are learning about different cultures and how they celebrate the holiday season this week.
Third-graders in Mrs. Megginson’s class enjoyed presenting the “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown” puppet play for most of the classes at DES.
Mrs. Nolfe’s third-grade Project Jubilee classes took a trip to the Pensacola, Fla., Little Theatre last week where they saw “A Christmas Story.” What a way to work our way toward the Christmas holidays.
Merry Christmas!
