DAPHNE, Ala. — Congratulations go to Mrs. Horst, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Battle, Mrs. Carraway, Mr. Curtis and Mrs. Heald.
From Promethean Boards to science kits to learning about the history of our own community, our teachers are the proud recipients of $7,538.07 in SEEDS grants for the 2008-2009 school year. SEEDS, Supporting Educational Enrichment in Daphne’s Schools, has distributed more than $48,000 since 2005 to teachers in the five Daphne public schools and at Christ the King Catholic School through their Classroom Enrichment Grant Program. These annual awards are made on the basis of each proposal’s potential for creativity and impact, professional collaboration and community partnership.

Not only have we moved into a brand new facility but we also are pleased to announce our brand new faculty members.
Mrs. Michelle Gay is teaching fifth grade. We also welcome Mr. Terrence Watts, Mrs. Pam Earle, Mrs. Jennifer Newton, and Ms. Stephanie Carroll who are teaching sixth grade this year. In addition, we are pleased to have Mr. Ronald Nero working with sixth-grade special education and Mr. Mark Davis working with sixth-grade Project Jubilee.
Congratulations to Mrs. Benita Battle who moved from fifth to sixth grade this year.
These teachers complete an excellent faculty that looks forward to guiding students through the 2008-2009 school year.
Our school is very fortunate to have a supportive PTO. We encourage you to join and become a part of our program. The 2008-2009 PTO OFFICERS are Elizabeth Lemieux, president; Leslie Spradlin, vice president; Cindy Rose, treasurer; and Lydia Barber, secretary.
We are still in need of assistance with many of the PTO activities.
Please contact Elizabeth Lemieux or Cindy Rose through our school office for more information.
Our Open House was held yesterday from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
We enjoyed seeing everyone there.
