Penny Janese White and Jason Carnell Goffinet were united in marriage June 9, 2007 at 6 p.m. at Saint James Episcopal Church in Fairhope. The Rev. Scott Lee officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waynard Winfield White of Fairhope. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Lynn Goffinet of Franklin, Tenn.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, Waynard Winfield White, wore a formal gown of silk white taffeta. The strapless gown was fashioned with a pleated bodice and was emphasized by a wide band of pearls, faceted crystals and rhinestones. The slim fitting sheath skirt carried an extended chapel that fell from a gathered back waist. Her cathedral length veil of imported French tulle was edged with silver lace and was held by a hand crafted bridal bandeau of pearls and crystals.
Paige White McCrory, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Yates Jesser, Tracey Manifold Johnson, Katherine Sarrar Long, Kim LeAnn Shoemaker, Christy Barclay Straughn, Aimee Goffinet Svenneby and Mae Coley Winters.
Gerry Lynn Goffinet, father of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Henry Harris Covington IV, Terry Steven Koetter, William James Luse, Christopher Wayne Morris, Ralph Hutchings Peden III, David Andrew Pike and Peter Thomas Svenneby.
Flower girls were Megan Elizabeth McCrory and Emily Katherine McCrory, nieces of the bride. Ring bearers were Erik Anders Svenneby and Evan Joseph Svenneby, nephews of the groom.
A reception at Rock Creek Country Club followed the ceremony.
After a wedding trip to Sanibel Island, the couple resides in Atlanta.
