"font-family:">William “Bill” Herston Dorriety, 74, a native of Huxford, Ala., a former longtime resident of Atmore and current resident of Point Clear, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012.
"font-family:">Herston was a former member of St. Robert’s Catholic Church, Atmore, and a current member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fairhope.
"font-family:">He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was also a co-owner of Sunbelt Chemicals in Atmore.
"font-family:">Mr. Dorriety was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Dorriety.
"font-family:">He is survived by his wife, Gwen Dorriety of Point Clear; son, Greg Dorriety and his wife, Donna, of Fairhope; daughter, Alison Neumann and her husband, Alfred M. Jr., of Point Clear; grandchildren, William Herston Dorriety II, A. Miles Neumann III, Alexander S. Neumann and William B. Neumann; brothers, John G. Dorriety of Atmore and Roy C. Dorriety of Attalla, Ala.;
"font-family:">sister, Dorothy A. Dorriety of Atmore; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
"font-family:">A memorial mass will be held from St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m.
"font-family:">The family will receive friends in the St. Lawrence Room at the church, following the service.
"font-family:">In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Alabama Veteran’s Cemetery, Spanish Fort, or the charity of your choice.
