William “Bill” Maxwell Jr., 86, passed away on May 9, 2015.

Bill was born July 17, 1928 in Steubenville, Ohio and lived there until he retired and moved his family to live in Lillian, Ala.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and William Maxwell; his loving wife, Millicent; and sister, Mary Ann Marine.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Shriner. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion, the Foley Seniors and several dance clubs in the area. Bill loved dancing and never missed a chance to go dancing.

He is survived by his son, Wayne Allen (Laura) Maxwell of Gulf Shores; sister, Peggy Ewing of Steubenville; and grandson, Charles Maxwell of Steubenville.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctor and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital for their caring of Bill.

Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life to be held at Lillian United Methodist Church, Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that you make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
