William Cornelius “Dub” Blair

William Cornelius “Dub” Blair, 82, born in Brewton and a resident of Stapleton, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

He was a retired sawmill manager and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Wilson) Blair of Stapleton; his children, Deborah Ellen Blair of Stapleton, Shelia Blair (Ricky) Sprinkle of Rabun, Tina (Kathy) Blair of Stapleton and Susan Blair (Charles) Owen of Stapleton; one brother, John Thomas (Dorothy) Blair of Stapleton; two sisters, Bertha Blair Stacey and Marilyn Blair (Tony) Mosley, both of Stapleton; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Blair; and his parents, Jas C. and Massey Virginia McCall Blair.

The funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Stapleton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alan Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow at Stapleton Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, from 1 until the 3 p.m. service.

Pallbearers will be Austin Hadley, Greg Wilson, Leo Byrd, Walter Raines III, Thomas Owen and C.J. Owen.
