Dr. William Dean Nesset, 95, a native of Canby, Minn., and a resident of Gulf Shores, died Monday, April 30, 2012.
Dr. Nesset had a private practice in Minneapolis, Minn., for 31 years. He retired to Fairhope in 1984 and moved to Gulf Shores in 1993. He was an avid skier, golfer and traveler. He loved the mountains, beach and family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary T. Nesset, Gulf Shores; son, Eric W. (Yvonne Stinson) Nesset, Thomasville, Ga.; daughters, Carrie M. (John) Tietz, Excelsior, Minn., Laurie J. (Dan) Ellis, Heber City, Utah, Joan E. (Chris) Wilson, Shorewood, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Christian, Erik (Helen) and Jonathan Tietz, Sarah, Cailin and Brenna Ellis, Kelly, Drew and Derek Akins; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was Friday, May 4, at St. Jude’s By The Sea Lutheran Church, Gulf Shores. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Seminary, Seminary Advancement Office, Loeber Hall, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105-3196, or Odyssey Hospice, 9805 Millwood Circle, Suite D.
