William Earl Irby age 81, a resident of Gulf Shores, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.
He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Irby is survived by his wife, Delores Irby of Gulf Shores; one daughter, Kathy Irby of Gainesville, Fla; three sons, William “Skip” E. (Scarlett) Jr. of Flager Beach, Fla., Danny (Irina) Irby of Houston, Texas and Bo (Michele) Irby of Port Orange, Fla; one brother, Paul Irby of Parkins, Tenn; one sister, Sara Gross of Lake Sara, Ala; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchild, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Memphis, Tenn.
