William Jesse Isbell, 87, a resident of Fairhope, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.
He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served on the Batfish submarine. He looked forward to the Batfish vets reunion in Oklahoma.
William was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Florence Isbell; and his loving sister, Mary Knapp.
He is survived by a daughter, Sherry Davis of Lexington, Ala.; three grandchildren, Travis Davis of Fairhope, Mandy Wisdom of Lexington, Ala. and Angela Davis of Alabama; three great-grandchildren, Ricky Wisdom Jr., Shy Zuniga and Dregan Davis; numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 10 a.m., at Friends Cemetery in Fairhope.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Batfish Museum in Muskogee, Okla.
