William Kermig Summers Sr., age 81, born in Mobile, Ala. June 15, 1934, died on July 5, 2015 in Foley, Ala.
Affectionately known as Mr. Bill, he graduated from Murphy High School, attended Virginias Military Institute and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Mr. Bill worked for the FBI in Washington and served with Military Police Corps in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Bill enjoyed various hobbies, including being a stained glass artist and an avid reader, and was a past President of Mobile’s Orchid Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, K.S. (Sip) and Marjorie Milliron Summers; and his son, William K. Summers Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Alice Smith Summers; daughter, Betsy Summers McKinney and son-in-law, Randy McKinney; two grandchildren, Clarissa McKinney Rambo and Andrew McKinney. Clarissa is married to Drew Rambo and they have two children, Sutton and Saylor. Andrew is married to Ashley Pavey McKinney and they have one son, Fisher McKinney.
Visitation will be held at Oyster Bay Baptist Church, 4820 Plash Road, Gulf Shores, AL 36542 on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10 a.m., and the memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.
Family has asked that donations in Mr. Bill’s honor be given to the Oyster Bay Baptist Church Building Fund, in lieu of flowers.
